Americana star at Tønder Festival

The American songwriter and singer Patty Griffin will appear at this year’s Tønder Festival. Another eight names are booked, including William Crighton, Paul Cauthen, Lion Bear Fox and The East Pointers – and Poul Krebs & Henning Kvitnes, who invite you to the launch of a new album.

Patty Griffin has written songs for Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris and Dixie Chicks, has won Grammies and other awards: she sits at the top of the American folk roots scene. It is with great pleasure that Tønder Festival can present Patty Griffin at this year’s festival.

Booming baritone

They came, played and were victorious at the 2018 Tønder Festival, and are returning in 2019: Australian William Crighton with the sonorous voice and and touching songs, and American Paul Cauthen with updated outlaw country.

Songwriters together

Irish Heidi Talbot works with Scots musician Adam Holmes under the name Arcade. An album and an extensive European tour are imminent.

Release concert

Dane Poul Krebs has been cooperating with Norwegian Henning Kvitnes for 30 years now, and the two songwriters are putting out an album and touring together in the autumn. It all starts at Tønder Festival with the launch of the album of the songs they have made together.

And That’s Not All

Tønder Festival has more revelations on the 2019 programme: Canadian Lion Bear Fox, British Greg Russell & Ciaran Algar, Canadian The East Pointers and Danish-German FolkBALTICA Ensemble.
