The musical partnership of Hans Theessink and Knud Møller has a substantial following in Denmark, where they have toured so often. Now it’s Tønder Festival’s turn to enjoy these two old hands and their elegant take on blues and roots music. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Hans Theessink, who turned 70 in 2018, has performed at Tønder Festival countless times since he started here as a young man in the 70s. He has appeared here in many contexts, most recently in 2017 with the late American singer Terry Evans. Born in the Netherlands, Hans Theessink lived in Denmark in the 70s and has called Vienna home since the 80s. He tours diligently, has made almost 30 albums and has won several awards, among them the Austrian Amadeus Music Award twice. Knud Møller (born in 1958) is best known around here as the Johnny Madsen Band’s brilliant guitarist. Few will dispute that Knud Møller is the man when it comes to blues, country and roots rock guitar. He is respected both as a guitarist and producer, working with Ester Brohus and Peter Belli, among many others.
