The return of Meschiya Lake, who has played up a storm every time she has appeared at Tønder Festival with her band, The Little Big Horns. The American singer and band update traditional New Orleans jazz with their own charm, blending various contiguous styles into the mix, served with humour, sensuality and a dash of wildness. The Spirit of New Orleans is out of the bottle when Meschiya Lake takes the stage. Born in South Dakota, where she won a singing contest at the age of nine, Meschiya Lake ran off with the circus in her twenties, and had ample scope for her musical development. Then she arrived in New Orleans, lost her heart to the town and its music, and moved there. She founded The Little Big Horns, and their debut album Lucky Devil from 2010 launched a career. Since then, there have been several more albums, world tours and numerous awards. Their only Danish festival concert in 2020.
