Mo Kenney from Nova Scotia in Canada is rapidly building a name for herself both at home and internationally. The 29 year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist has toured with the likes of Ron Sexsmith and Joel Plaskett. The latter produced Mo Kenney’s debut album in 2012. She has subsequently released two albums, The Details from 2017 being the latest. Her debut album unleashed a rain of stars and awards. Mo Kenney’s song Sucker won the 2013 SOCAN Songwriting Prize in Canada. The album The Details took two prizes at the Nova Scotia Music Awards. An Irish Times critic wrote that Mo Kenney’s music “balances folksiness and metal edges with instinctual melodic power pop.” Mo Kenney began playing guitar aged 11, listened to classic rock like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Ozzy Osborne. Over the years her interests have turned towards indie rock, songwriting and finger-picking guitar. Solo – and her only Danish festival concert in 2020.
