The Faroese songwriter and multimusician Teitur is long established in Scandinavian music history as a pre-eminent artiste with a distinctive personal voice. Teitur Lassen (born in 1977) got off to a flying start in 2003 with his debut album Poetry & Aeroplanes which was released by Universal Music in USA, won acclaim from the critics and took Teitur on long tours of USA, Canada and Europe. In the autumn of 2019, a poll taken among Teitur’s loyal fans crowned Josephine (which Teitur wrote with Annette Bjergfeldt) from the debut album their favourite song. Teitur has won several Danish Music Awards and made eight studio albums, the latest being I Want To Be Kind from 2018. He has recorded in Los Angeles, on Gotland, in Copenhagen and in the Faro Islands, played with symphony orchestras and has worked as a composer, songwriter and producer with numerous other musicians, among them the legendary composer and producer Van Dyke Parks. Teitur took part in Danish TV2’s popular Top of the Pops programme in the autumn of 2019. He will be spending much of 2020 on tour.
