He is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and has roots among the original inhabitants of Canada, more precisely the Sandy Lake First Nation, in north-west Ontario. During the covid pandemic, Aysanabee began his songwriting and storytelling production, and his debut album Watin appeared in the autumn of 2022. The three singles he’d made and rumours about Aysanabee spread, and in 2022 he performed all over Canada, including some major festivals. The music is a blend of soul, indie, folk and electronica, which, together with Aysanabee’s distinctive voice, has made an deep impression on listeners and critics alike. Comparisons have been made with Bon Iver, Kings of Leon and Sam Smith. Aysanabee’s debut album Watin is named for his grandfather and includes ten songs and nine recordings of the grandfather’s voice telling of his upbringing and life in the Sandy Lake First Nation community. His only Danish festival in 2023.
