Brent Cobb (USA)

After about ten years in Nashville, songwriter Brent Cobb moved back to Georgia, where he grew up. Here, with the assistance of local musicians, he has recorded his latest album, Southern Star, released in the autumn of 2023. This was in the town of Macon, which has musical associations with the likes of the Allman Brothers, the Marshall Tucker Band and Charlie Daniels Band. You can hear these influences on Southern Star. Over the straight country tone lies a tight, southern rock with a funky yet laid-back rhythmic feel. 37 year-old Brent Cobb's solo career took off in 2006 with the release of the album No Place Left To Leave, produced by his cousin Dave Cobb (who has also produced for Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, John Prine and others). Brent Cobb moved to Nashville, joing the town's songwriter coterie. He has written for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney, parallel with his growing solo career. The album Shine On Rainy Day (2016) was nominated in the Grammy category Best Americana Album. His only Danish festival in 2024.
