Emily Scott Robinson (USA)

Songwriter Emily Scott Robinson from Colorado is on the up and up. After her second album, Traveling Mercies in 2019 and winning the Telluride Troubadour Contest in the town of Telluride, the next step was the album American Siren in 2021 with the record company Oh Boy Records, who released John Prine’s recordings. The album garnered fine reviews, and Rolling Stone magazine included it among The 25 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2021. Her latest release is the EP Built On Bones, six songs about the witches in William Shakespeare’s tragedy Macbeth. The songs add a new dimension to Shakespeare’s story and its portrayal of the witches. “The witches in Macbeth are usually presented as frightening, ugly and evil creatures. What if they were beautiful, tempting, sexy, powerful and playful?” says Emily Scott Robinson in an interview with the magazine The Boot. On the record we also hear Alisa Amador and Violet Bell, and these are the songs that the musicians will perform at Tønder Festival. Emily Scott Robinson is giving two concerts at the festival, and the group appears at the one. Their only Danish festival in 2023.
