Sylfide processes the Danish cultural heritage and still embraces the present with feminine strength and sensitivity. The electroacoustic universe and the crystal clear vocals unite Nordic folk music with modern songwriting and add elements from the world of pop. The melodies draw threads from Nordic folk dances and folk songs and are elegantly clothed in layers of synthesizer, strings, real sounds of dancing feet and adventurous harp sounds. The lyrics also draw on our common cultural heritage – all grounded in the past and looking to the future. Sylfide’s members are already known from prominent bands on the Danish folk and jazz scene, including Hvalfugl, Nevesta’s Voice and Tailcoat.
