The American filmmaker Quentin Tarantino is known for his wild, chaotic films and
not least for his original choice of background music. The music from Tarantino’s films is the starting point for the Danish theatrical concert The Tarantino Twist Show, and they do not keep it quiet. The audience is rocked by 10 singers, performers and musicians on stage, by songs like George Baker Selection’s Little Green Bag (1969) used in the film Reservoir Dogs, Kool & The Gang’s Jungle Boogie (1973) from Pulp Fiction and Stealers Wheel’s Stuck in the Middle with You (1973) from Reservoir Dogs. On stage we see figures from Tarantino’s films – Mr. Blonde, The Gimp, Mia Wallace and Jackie Brown. Tarantino’s love of guitar rock and surf music is reflected in the show, of course, where the house band The Crazy 88’s (after a gang in the film Kill Bill) more than fill the bill. The Tarantino Twist Show have their base in Aarhus, and a number of Denmark’s finest musicians and singers make up the troupe.
