The final names have been added to the 2022 Tønder Festival roster. Among the most recent names are Allison Russell, Margo Cilker, Vincent Neil Emerson, Amythyst Kiah, Tide Lines, Mike Elrington and festival veteran Niels Hausgaard.
It’s hard to suppress our enthusiasm: all we had hoped for has become reality and the festival will roll! The Tønder Festival 2022 roster is drawn up and everything is on line for the arrival of our audience on the last weekend of August.
New and Familiar Faces
Eleven names have been injected into the Tønder programme. You have treats in store in the form of four promising songwriters from USA and Canada, Allison Russell, Margo Cilker, Amythyst Kiah and Vincent Neil Emerson. Likewise from USA we have a roots trio, Gumbo Grits & Gravy, comprising Guy Davis, Bruce Molsky and Walter Parks.
From Scotland, the folk rock band Tide Lines will be returning, and from Australia we’ll hear blues and roots rock from Mike Elrington. The Fourth Moon quartet, with members from Italy, Austria, France and Scotland, play traditional Celtic music.
North Jutland sends distinguished representatives who master the art of storytelling: the songwriter Mikael K will be here with his band, and as for the other, well, there can be no Tønder Festival without Niels Hausgaard. And from Denmark and Germany: folkBALTICA Ensemblet.
Last, but not least, Folk Spot Denmark, in conjunction with Tønder Festival, presents eight Nordic folk roots names: Kajsa Balto, Barani, CPH Slim, Fionia Folk Brothers, Flach | Dillner, Grabow & Guldhammer, Jørgensen and Sørensen and the Tone of Voice Orchestra.
Who is on When?
All the musicians are enlisted. Almost 60 international and Danish bands and solo acts cover the time from Thursday 25 till Sunday 28 August 2022 on Tønder Festival’s many stages. Find more information on the Tønder Festival website tf.dk and on the Tønder Festival app.
