Politiken Talk: The Complete Recordings Of Hezekiah Procter – Front Porch
In 2022, Canadian songwriter Li’l Andy released the ambitious work The Complete Recordings of Hezekiah Procter (1925–1930) – a project that combines an album, a novel, and performance art.
Under the name of Hezekiah Procter, a fictional old-time musician from the 1920s, Andy wrote 29 songs recorded together with Sheesham & Lotus ’n Son and The Ever Lovin’ Jug Band. Both on record and on stage, the musicians perform fully in character, reviving a forgotten generation of travelling artists – creating an immersive experience of music, theatre, and storytelling.
