There isn't a single answer to that - but you'll become part of a volunteer community, where commitment and teamwork are the cornerstones of developing and creating the Tønder Festival!

No volunteers, no Tønder Festival. It's as simple as that.

Every year, the Tønder Festival is brought to life with the help of over 3,000 volunteers who work together before, during, and after the event. Everyone unites with a single aim: to create a world-class festival. The volunteer community at Tønder Festival is at the heart of its identity. Everyone is welcome here!

  • A volunteer wristband granting access to this year’s Tønder Festival.

  • Access to the Staff Bar and Canteen, where you can purchase food and drinks at discounted prices.

  • Free camping in the Tønder Festival’s designated camping area (electricity available for an additional fee).

  • Invitations to two annual social events for volunteers: the Volunteer Party, held the day after the festival’s closing concert, and the Midway Party, held every spring.

  • Opportunities for volunteer perks at concerts organised by Tønder Festival’s partners.

Your contribution

As a volunteer at Tønder Festival, you are expected to contribute a minimum of 18 hours within your team's designated opening hours. Hours worked before and after the festival count for half the time, whereas hours worked during the festival count in full. This means that if all your hours fall outside the festival dates, you will need to work a minimum of 36 hours, whereas during the festival itself, the minimum requirement is 18 hours.
