The fiftieth year of Tønder Festival brings back many of the musicians who have appeared here earlier and are firm favourites with Tønder audiences. True Heart Troubadours: well-known musicians in a new constellation. Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and master of bluegrass Tim O’Brien is a frequent Tønder visitor in many different contexts. Songwriter Mary Gauthier, who has given audiences at our smaller venues great moments, has many friends and followers at Tønder Festival. True Heart Troubadours bring something special. Guitars, mandolin, violin and vocal harmonies and of course songwriting of the highest quality. Tim O'Brien, Jan Fabricius, Mary Gauthier and Jaimee Harris create an intimate ambience on stage, and the name True Heart is not randomly chosen. The quartet arose from the wish for close musical interplay, as Mary Gauthier puts it, "…to bring a deep mutual understanding and to open hearts for love." These four musicians and songwriters between them have made several dozen albums, won several Grammy awards and nominations, and had their songs recorded by artists such as Garth Brooks, Boy George, The Dixie Chicks, Jimmy Buffet and Tim McGraw. Their only Danish festival in 2024.
