Adeem the Artist, also known as Adeem Maria or Adeem Bingham, is an American songwriter and musician with a focus on country music.
Adeem the Artist identifies as non-binary and uses they/them/their pronouns. Born in 1988 in North Carolina, Adeem later moved to Syracuse, New York, and then to Knoxville, Tennessee. They have released nine albums, four EPs, and a number of singles. The first album, “The Living Room Tapes,” was released in 2011, and the most recent is “Anniversary” from 2024. In 2020, Adeem The Artist joined the magazine Country Queer as an editor and columnist. Country Queer is an online magazine focusing on LGBTQ+ artists in country and Americana music. The album “White Trash Revelry” from 2022 received significant attention, with one reviewer noting that the songs delve deeply into Southern culture, racism, religion, and sexuality—experienced by Adeem the Artist as a non-binary person. Adeem The Artist performs with a band and is set to appear at the only Danish festival in 2025.
