A rare chance
Get up close with one of music's most influential sonic architects. Canadian producer, composer and guitarist Daniel Lanois takes a seat on the intimate Front Porch stage for a conversation about a lifetime spent shaping sound, space and atmosphere.
For four decades, Lanois has been behind the desk on some of rock's most iconic records — working closely with Brian Eno, he helped shape U2's sound on albums including The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, and has produced or co-produced artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson. Alongside his work as a producer, he's released a string of atmospheric solo albums of his own and picked up several Grammy Awards along the way.
At this Artist Talk, Daniel Lanois pulls back the curtain: How does a signature sound come together? What has he learned from four decades in the studio with some of the world's biggest artists? And how does the journey sound from a home studio in Ontario to Grant Avenue Studio and beyond, into music history?
A rare chance to hear Daniel Lanois in his own words — the day after his only Danish concert in 2026, Thursday 27 August at 7.45pm in Tent 1, where he performs with a small band built around pedal steel and guitar.
