His only performance in Denmark in 2026
The Canadian producer, composer and guitarist Daniel Lanois is renowned for his distinctive, spacious and atmospheric sound — a sonic signature that has shaped rock, folk and ambient music for more than four decades.
Born in Hull, Québec in 1951 and raised in Ontario, Daniel Lanois began experimenting with sound in a home studio at an early age and later founded the renowned Grant Avenue Studio, where he developed his distinctive production style.
As a producer, Lanois moves effortlessly between grand, cinematic pop and intimate, experimental soundscapes, leaving his mark on some of music’s most iconic albums. In close collaboration with Brian Eno, he helped craft U2’s signature sound (on The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, among others) and has produced or co-produced artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.
Alongside his work behind the mixing desk, Daniel Lanois has released a series of solo albums — atmospheric, instrumental works that explore his lifelong fascination with effects and spatial sound. His contributions have earned him multiple accolades, including several Grammy Awards.
At Tønder Festival — his only Danish performance in 2026 — audiences can look forward to an intimate sonic journey built around pedal steel and guitar, performed with a small band.
