Erik Koskinen (USA)

Only Danish festival in 2025

"Writes like Dylan, looks like Hank Williams, walks like John Wayne, smokes like James Dean and plays like nobody else."

That's how Spinout Records described the American singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Erik Koskinen, who is giving his first concert in Europe.

His music is not easily packed into any genre. His style is quite his own, under strong roots music influence.

Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, he grew up in northern Michigan and north New York, since moved to Minneapolis, now living in rural Minnesota – Erik Koskinen has felt the rhythms of factory towns and agricultural areas. For some years he worked in construction, developing his music alongside.

Erik Koskinen's rhythmic integrity and musical tone are just as central as his lyrics and his artistic expression. His songs have won respect through their simplicity, directness and clear language, earning him a place as a successor to greats like Woody Guthrie and Ry Cooder. You can look forward to the pleasure of meeting a musician described by the Minneapolis Star Tribune as "the real deal" and "the best country songwriter in Minnesota."

On stage, he will be backed by Jeffrey Foucault's band.
