Koncert by the old railway station
A free concert with acclaimed violinist Bjarke Falgren on Thursday, August 27, gives Tønder Festival guests a great reason to get up early.
It has become something of a tradition to enjoy great music in front of the old railway station during Tønder Festival, and this year is no exception. This time, the audience can look forward to a morning concert featuring community singing and swinging tunes from violinist Bjarke Falgren and his friends.
With Falgren leading the way, audiences are guaranteed a vivid and captivating musical experience, ranging from lyrical and melodic passages to virtuosic,2 playful and swinging performances. The music draws inspiration from a wide range of traditions, including Latin, folk and Nordic music. Joining Falgren on stage are Italian-born bandoneon player Paolo Russo, Cuban percussionist Eliel Lazo, guitarist Jacob Holm and bassist Morten Lundsby & Villads Hoffmann, cittern.
The event, supported by the Danish Ministry of Culture, is free of charge and forms part of an initiative to establish the station building as a permanent part of Tønder Festival, housing archives on folk and roots music as well as exhibitions about artists.
