Minority Language Circle - music on the terms of minority languages
The festival's newest circle format shines a light on the languages and cultures that live at the edges of the great national narratives.
Minority Language Circle is a brand-new format, making its debut at Tønder Festival in 2025. The concept is as simple as it is powerful: artists perform in their own mother tongue. This year's participants are Beinir (FO), Lea Kampmann (FO/DK), Luna Erhasin (DK), Sam Kelly (UK) and Ríoghnach Connolly (IRL) — a line-up spanning Faroese, Gaelic and Irish, that together draw a vivid map of Europe's musical borderlands.
