6 new names: world famous country star tops list

Topping the list in this release is without a doubt the American country star Charley Crockett, who is currently hailed as the biggest and most notable name on the international country scene. When he last played at Tønder Festival, in 2019, he was already a figure to be reckoned with. Since then, his career has ignited, and demand has grown to place him at the pinnacle of the genre, with fully booked tours and an expanding audience throughout the world.

"We are incredibly proud to present Charley Crockett at Tønder Festival. He is one of the top names in country music right now, and it is a massive scoop for Tønder Festival to be able to offer our audience his only Danish concert in 2027," says artistic director Maria Theessink.

Two other exciting names from North America are both having their Tønder Festival debuts. Canadian singer and songwriter Begonia has won loads of praise on the international music scene for strong vocals and personal songwriting. Along with fellow-countrymen Beauxmont, she is performing at the festival for the first time, and both shows will be their only Danish appearances in 2027.

One of Tønder Festival's big audience favourites is returning. Dorthe Gerlach has built a special relationship with her listeners over the years, and the penetrating magnetism of her songs and her presentation bring her audience back time and again.

A new acquaintance at Tønder Festival will be rock band Magtens Korridorer. Though they have never before graced Tønder Festival's stages, their energetic live format will undoubtedly engage with the appreciative Tønder audience.

Tønder Festival 2027 has another surprise up its sleeve in the form of a joyful revival. Serras, who have not performed since 2010, achieved a special status among Danish folk music bands. This reformation will give festivalgoers a long-anticipated opportunity to relive this talented group's unique musical concept and their very distinctive sound.

With the release of these six names, Tønder Festival upholds its programme principle of combining both international stars, remarkable new voices, and popular Danish artists.

Many people are showing an interest in Tønder Festival 2027, and ticket sales are already strong. Until 1st December, or as long as tickets on special offer last, festivalgoers can buy an all-in ticket with a 355 kroner rebate. Day tickets for Tønder Festival 2027 go on sale on 1st December.
