Thank you for this year – see you in 2026

Published 1st September 2025

Thanks to everyone who made the magic possible

Tønder Festival sends a heartfelt thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, partners, musicians, audiences, and all the many dedicated people who together created yet another festival celebrating music and community.

Four days of festival are now successfully concluded, and once again this year, audiences experienced what Tønder Festival is known for: world-class roots music, unforgettable musical moments, intimacy, and an atmosphere that brings people together across countries and generations.

Audiences embraced traditions and new initiatives
Around 15,000 people attended Tønder Festival this year, warmly embracing both long-standing traditions and new initiatives.

Audiences welcomed both the established elements and new additions – including the new eatery Snas & Sans and the new stallholder in Rungholt. Nyholm Forest was once again a popular retreat, while many also explored local artists creating works during the festival, the special exhibition Folk Tales in the Pump House, and the spectacular “Klugestage” acrobatic jumps on the festival grounds.

This year, the festival also offered an extra Southern Jutland cake table and guided tours, which were very well received by guests. On the music front, there were especially memorable experiences with concerts by Lyle Lovett & His Acoustic Group, Avi Kaplan, Fantastic Negrito, Crowe Boys, Charles Wesley Godwin, Trousdale, and Tessa, who performed at this year’s school concert to great audience enthusiasm.

Thanks to everyone who made the magic possible
It is a happy and grateful festival director looking back on yet another successful festival.

“We want to extend a huge thank you to all our sponsors and partners for their invaluable support – and not least to the audience, who once again created a very special festival atmosphere in Tønder,” says Kristina Lehmann Schjøtt, adding:

“And our fantastic volunteers also deserve a massive thank you. Once again this year, they made everything possible with their unique spirit of volunteerism, skill, and hearts in the right place.”

Tønder Festival 2025 concluded on Sunday, August 31st, with a celebration for the volunteers and an award ceremony from the Volunteer Association.
