Yet another gift: Four Intimate Concerts with Five Fan Favourites

Published 7th August 2026

One more gift

Pernille Rosendahl, Dorthe Gerlach, Signe Svendsen, Annika Aakjær and Rikke Thomsen will inaugurate the festival’s new intimate stage.

Five prominent female artists will open the festival’s new intimate stage in the Nyholm Forest area: Pernille Rosendahl, Dorthe Gerlach, Signe Svendsen, Annika Aakjær and Rikke Thomsen.

Pernille Rosendahl and Dorthe Gerlach will perform together, Annika Aakjær and Rikke Thomsen will perform solo, and Signe Svendsen will appear in a trio format.

A Rare Coup

Securing these performances is a rare coup and an extra gift for festivalgoers just weeks before Tønder Festival opens its gates. Pernille Rosendahl will make her Tønder Festival debut, while Dorthe Gerlach, Signe Svendsen, Annika Aakjær and Rikke Thomsen are all dedicated Tønder supporters and clear audience favourites. Last year, for example, Rikke Thomsen performed on the Open Air Stage in front of 10,000 people.

The new intimate venue, Æ Skovscene, located in the Nyholm Forest area, accommodates a maximum of 300 guests, and the festival recognises that the limited capacity may disappoint some fans.

“We know these artists could easily fill much larger stages, but intimate concerts are exactly what makes Tønder Festival so special. We hope people will keep that in mind if they are unable to get in,” says Maria Theessink, Artistic Director of Tønder Festival and the woman behind the impressive booking.

Four Days – Five Outstanding Artists

With these five names, Tønder Festival underlines its ambitions for this year’s programme and for the development of Nyholm Forest as a new atmospheric area within the festival grounds. The new stage is part of a range of initiatives unfolding in the woods this year, including gourmet long-table dinners, which are already close to being sold out.

Concert Schedule

  • Wednesday, 4:00 pm – Dorthe & Pernille

  • Thursday, 3:30 pm – Signe Svendsen

  • Friday, 4:30 pm – Annika Aakjær

  • Saturday, 1:00 pm – Rikke Thomsen

Festival Close to Selling Out

The announcement coincides with Tønder Festival approaching a complete sell-out for both full festival passes and Saturday tickets. Friday tickets have already sold out, and ticket sales are reportedly strong across all categories.
