Experience Tønder before the festival
Extend your stay and experience the area of Tønder with this year's 4+ program.
On August 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2025, Visit Rømø & Tønder once again invites you to participate in this year’s 4+ events in the days leading up to the festival: a strong program filled with activities that highlights everything Tønder has to offer within culture, nature, gastronomy, history, and local business.
This year, you can experience highlights such as:
Guided tour, free bar, live music and a grill buffet at Norlyk
On both August 23rd and 26th, Norlyk Distillery invites you to an exclusive guided tour with master distiller Claus Norlyk, followed by lounge music, a summer grill buffet, and free bar in a cozy setting.
Art and the border region
If you’re interested in art and culture, join a guided tour on August 25th to the Nolde Museum, located just south of the Danish-German border. You’ll have the chance to enjoy beautiful nature while learning about the cross-border cultural landscape - and discover why painter Emil Nolde chose to settle in this very place.
Beer tasting, folk songs, and anecdotes at Klostercafeen
On August 24th, Klostercafeen in Tønder hosts an evening dedicated to beer, where Jørgen Rüdinger will guide you through a tasting of eight different types of beer. Along the way, he’ll share his extensive knowledge and experiences from the world of beer.
About 4+
4+ was established with the aim of encouraging festival guests to stay a little longer in Tønder - and to come back. By showcasing the many unique experiences the area offers in culture, nature, history, and local industry, the ambition is to attract new visitors while also inspiring returning guests to extend their stay around the festival. At the same time, 4+ wants to show that Tønder is worth visiting all year round - not just during the festival.

The printed festival program is being discontinued
Starting in 2025, Tønder Festival will no longer produce a printed program. This decision is based on feedback from our audience and our desire to allocate the festival’s resources where they create the most value for our guests.
