The Full Schedule is Ready
The full schedule is now available, and Faroese singer-songwriter Beinir, Danish act Mojo Hands and Irish artist Ríoghnach Connolly are added to this year's line-up.
"It is that diversity and breadth we are so proud of — and what year after year makes Tønder Festival something truly unique"
In just a few months, Tønder Festival will open its gates to another four days of folk, roots, singer-songwriter and musical encounters across cultures and genres. The festival is now pleased to announce three more names for this year's programme: Faroese singer-songwriter Beinir, Danish act Mojo Hands, and Irish artist Ríoghnach Connolly. At the same time, the festival releases the complete programme and full schedule, now available at TF.dk and in the festival app.
"We are truly proud of this year's programme. It holds both the big, beloved names and the entirely new voices that audiences don't yet know. It is that diversity and breadth we are so proud of — and what year after year makes Tønder Festival something truly unique," says the festival's Artistic Director, Maria Theessink.
Beinir (FO) In just a few years, Beinir has established himself as a distinctly present voice on the Nordic music scene. With a characteristic voice and intimate songwriting, the Faroese artist moves in the crossover between folk, indie and singer-songwriter — delivering strong melodies and stories that linger long after the final note.
Mojo Hands (DK) Mojo Hands deliver hand-played rhythm & blues, soul and roots with plenty of groove, stage energy and pure joy of playing. Rooted in the classic American blues and soul tradition, the band creates concert experiences with powerful vocals, intimacy and a sound that draws audiences in close.
Ríoghnach Connolly (IRL) Ríoghnach Connolly is an award-winning Irish vocalist, flautist and songwriter whose expression moves effortlessly between Irish folk, soul, roots and spoken word. With a powerful voice and a commanding stage presence, she creates intense concert experiences with deep roots in the Irish tradition and a strongly personal artistic voice.
Emmylou Harris closes Friday evening This year's programme also features major international names and extraordinary concert experiences. One of the absolute highlights will come when Emmylou Harris takes to the Open Air stage on Friday evening. With more than five decades of career behind her and her status as one of the most defining figures in Americana and roots music, this concert ranks among the most anticipated in the festival's recent history.
The festival opens on Wednesday on the Open Air stage with Poul Krebs, and audiences will also be able to enjoy Ulige Numre and a tribute to Kris Kristofferson. Thursday features, among others, Shakey Graves, Jake Bugg and Lily Fitts. Friday brings a reunion with Emily Scott Robinson alongside Daniel Lanois and Ron Sexsmith, while Saturday closes strongly with Aaron Lee Tasjan, Crowe Boys and audience favourite Skerryvore, among others.
And when darkness falls, there will be room to celebrate. Mojo Hands will be bringing atmosphere, groove and late-night concert experiences to the Bolero tent on Friday and Saturday evening/night, where the band's blues, soul and roots universe invites audiences right up close — full of energy, joy of playing and a proper dance floor spirit.
Songwriter circles — where the music happens Audiences can once again enjoy the popular songwriter circles — one of the festival's most beloved formats, where singer-songwriters come together, share songs and create musical moments that only arise in the present. The Women's Circle returns on Wednesday, the Minority Language Circle takes place on Thursday with Beinir and Ríoghnach Connolly among others, while the Gentlemen's Circle on Friday gathers Aaron Lee Tasjan, Daniel Lanois and Jesper Lindell, among others.
Folk Spot showcase Folk Spot also returns to the festival. Folk Spot is a collaboration with SPOT Festival in Aarhus and serves as a showcase stage for emerging names in folk and roots music. The programme will be announced at a later date.
Music for the youngest — schools concert with folkBALTICA and Ozzy The festival once again offers experiences for the very youngest. On Thursday morning, approximately 5,000 schoolchildren are invited to a schools concert on the Open Air stage with folkBALTICA and Ozzy — living proof that folk and roots music belongs to the future, too.
Talks, workshops and much more TF2026 is much more than concerts. At Front Porch in Outlaw Village, audiences can get up close with the musicians at Artist Talks featuring, among others, Jacob Dinesen, Bye Bye Brenda, Poul Krebs, Niels Hausgaard and Daniel Lanois. Saturday's programme also includes a workshop in Irish Singing with Ríoghnach Connolly and a jam session with Folkekons in the Jam Tent.
Ticket sales are moving at an outstanding pace. Friday tickets are already sold out, and interest in full festival passes is significant.
"We are experiencing enormous interest in this year's festival and are thrilled by the tremendous support from audiences. We therefore encourage everyone not to wait too long to secure their festival passes," says CEO Kristina Lehmann-Schjøtt.
