Camping goes on sale on 30 January
Here you’ll find your base for music, togetherness and good times – the place where you can start and end your day right in the heart of the festival atmosphere.
When does the campsite open? Where is the Campsite Grocer? Can I bring my cat? Find answers to most of them below.
Subject to change.
Guests can enter the campsite from Saturday, 22 August at 8 AM, and thereafter each day during the campsite’s opening hours, which are from 8 AM to 7 PM.
⚠️ For safety and permit reasons, guests may not arrive at the check-in area before Saturday at 8 AM, and it is not allowed to queue before this time.
🚘 IF YOU ARRIVE BY CAR
All overnight guests arriving by car must check in at Industrien (Søndre Industrivej 1, 6270 Tønder).
After check-in, follow the signs to the festival campsite (Papegøjevej 4, 6270 Tønder), where our volunteers will direct you to your pitch.
Glamping and Tenthouse
If you have booked Glamping or Tenthouse, upon arrival at Papegøjevej follow the signs to Camping Info, where volunteers will guide you to your accommodation.
ReTent
If you have booked ReTent in Oasen, drive to Papegøjevej, where you will be guided to Oasen.
If you have booked ReTent in Marsken, follow the signs from Industrien to Marsken, where you will find your numbered ReTent.
🚶➡️ IF YOU ARRIVE ON FOOT
If you arrive on foot, go directly to Camping Info to check in.
PLEASE NOTE
Have all tickets ready upon arrival and stay in your car during check-in.
The issued parking permit must include the car’s registration number and a mobile phone number, and be placed on the dashboard.
Be prepared that check-in and finding your pitch may take time, and queues can form at busy periods.
Please make sure to exit the campsite by Sunday, 30 August by 3 PM. Please leave your area in good condition. Queues may occur when exiting the campsite.
You may park one vehicle (car, motorcycle, or similar) per unit on the campsite – except in Marsken, which is a car-free area.
Parking – Own unit:
You may park next to your unit.
Parking – Glamping and ReTent:
You cannot park next to your tent, but a parking space nearby will be assigned.
Parking – Tenthouse:
If there is space, you may park next to your Tenthouse. If not, you will be directed to parking in the immediate vicinity.
Areas with electricity access may only be used by guests with a camping ticket for that specific area.
Only CEE cables may be used. Maximum load: 6A / 1320W – check your devices before connecting. The nearest socket may be far away, so consider bringing an extension cord. Adapters can be rented at Camping Info.
Shower trailers with cabins offering cold and hot water are set up in several locations around the campsite.
The service is free, and to help us continue providing it at no cost, guests are encouraged to help keep the trailers clean and welcoming.
Additionally, near the fire tower, there is a larger shower tent with separate sections for women and men. The setup is simple but cozy and atmospheric.
During the first days, there will be limited shower and toilet facilities available on the campsite.
Drinking water stations are available at all toilet trailers.
Location
There is a reserved area for festival guests with mobility disabilities near the South Entrance. Accessible toilets and showers are available here. A volunteer will assign you a pitch upon arrival.
Camping ticket
If you wish to stay in Tønder Festival’s accessible camping area, please contact Billetten.dk, who will assist you with purchasing a spot in the accessible area. Have documentation of your disability ready. You will then receive a payment link to buy your accessible camping ticket. All stays in accessible camping include electricity and it cannot be declined.
Companion ticket for overnight stay
If you need a companion ticket for staying on the campsite, please also contact Billetten.dk. You will need documentation such as a helper certificate, approval letter, or similar.
If the helper stays in the same unit as you, a free personal camping ticket can be issued to the helper. If the helper stays in a separate unit, an additional camping ticket must be purchased at your own expense.
Otherwise, the same rules apply on accessible camping as on the rest of the campsite.
Read about how to place your unit and vehicle in our Camping Rules.
Pitch for own unit
If you wish to reserve a pitch for friends arriving later, you must show a copy of their camping ticket and the dimensions of their caravan/tent (including drawbar/guylines). The measurement of the reserved pitch(es) will be done together with a volunteer from the camping team and marked with the festival’s official marking tape (bring your own pegs or sticks).
Guests are not allowed to reserve a pitch before Saturday, 22 August at 8 AM. Any markings made before this time will be removed.
Areas for Tønder Festival’s internal use will be marked with the festival’s marking tape and possibly signs. These markings must be respected.
Glamping, Tenthouse, or ReTent
If you wish to reserve a Glamping tent, Tenthouse, or ReTent for other guests arriving later, you must show a copy of their camping ticket.
For the safety of guests, drivers are asked to respect the following rules:
Limit all driving, both on the campsite and in and out of the site
Maximum speed: 20 km/h on the campsite
Be considerate of pedestrians and cyclists
There are no parking spaces at the Camping Shop, so walk or cycle
Parked vehicles without a parking permit (or in marked P-areas without a red P permit) will be removed at the owner’s expense and without liability
The campsite is closed for check-in and driving between 8 PM and 8 AM. For safety and permit reasons, guests may not arrive at the check-in area outside of campsite opening hours, and queuing in the adjacent streets (Papegøjevej, Jernbanegade, and Ved Slotsbanken) is not allowed
Necessary departures after 8 PM must take place via the exit by the east entrance.
Tønder Festival’s campsite is located in a marshland landscape, which is an important part of the festival’s unique surroundings. After a summer with heavy rain, parts of the campsite may therefore become unsuitable for use.
For safety reasons, comfort, and the smooth running of the festival, Tønder Festival reserves the right – if weather conditions make it necessary – to assign campers to a different area than the one stated on their ticket. Any relocation will, if possible, be to an area with similar conditions and facilities.
Any price difference between the booked area and the reassigned area will be reimbursed on a Tønder Festival value card that can be used at the festival site.
We always do our best to inform you quickly and clearly and to ensure that everyone has a great camping experience – even when the weather shows its more challenging side.
