Cancellations due to illness

20th August 2024

David Ritschard, along with Tim O'Brien and Jan Fabricius, cancel their performances at Tønder Festival 2024

They are replaced by Mallemuk and Twang, as well as Jeffrey Martin.

It’s a common occurrence at many festivals, and Tønder Festival has experienced it several times over the years: last-minute cancellations. Unfortunately, the festival has recently received notifications of cancellations from some of this year's artists.

Swedish artist David Ritschard and his band are canceling their performances at Tønder Festival 2024 due to illness within the band. Two replacements have now been arranged: the Danish band Mallemuk will perform on Wednesday, August 21, at 5:15 PM on Klubscenen, and the Danish band Twang will take the stage on Thursday, August 22, at 11:00 AM in Tent 2.

American multi-instrumentalist and bluegrass master Tim O’Brien, who has visited the festival numerous times, and his collaborator Jan Fabricius are also unfortunately affected by illness and must cancel. They were scheduled to perform on Saturday, August 24, at 8:45 PM in Bolero as part of True Heart Troubadours. In their place, American songwriter Jeffrey Martin will perform.

Tønder Festival regrets the cancellations.
