It’s time to secure the perfect base for Tønder Festival 2025. This year, as a new feature, you can choose the area where you wish to camp.

The city mayor, Patron H.R.H. Princess Marie, and the American ambassador will give speeches, and the Scottish band Skipinnish will provide the music at the official opening of the Tønder Festival on Wednesday, August 21.
The anniversary edition of the Tønder Festival will be launched in grand style with cultural and musical greetings. Mayor of Tønder, Jørgen Popp Petersen, will give a welcome speech at 12:15 PM, followed by an opening speech by H.R.H. Princess Marie, Patron of the Tønder Festival. A greeting will be sent across the North Sea and the Atlantic by the American ambassador in Denmark, Alan Leventhal, who will deliver the final speech.
The opening concert is entrusted to Skipinnish, one of the best Scottish folk rock bands. Skipinnish draws on proud Scottish musical traditions and features the sound of bagpipes, accordion, and violin, all on a solid foundation of bass, drums, and keyboard.
The opening speeches and the opening concert will take place on Wednesday, August 21, at 12:15 PM on the Open Air Stage. Admission to the opening concert is free.
