One of the major figures in Australian music is back. 40 year-old Dan Sultan played Tønder Festival in 2019, on his own. Now he is back with his band. Singer, guitarist and songwriter, Dan Sultan made his first album Homemade Biscuits in 2006. Since then, he has numerous releases, concerts, solo and with the band, to his name, and has garnered international recognition and a long series of awards and nominations. His music rests on a solid base of soul, blues and rock, and as a singer Dan Sultan can express both the subdued and sensitive and the raw and soul-rocking. In Australia he has been crowned with prizes from the National Indigenous Awards, focussing on music by Australia's original population. Dan Sultan's mother is aborigine and she was part of “the stolen generation”, children removed from their families by the Australian authorities. Sultan describes this crime in the song Roslyn. On his latest album Dan Sultan (2023), Dan Sultan claims to get closer to the person he is, including songs about family life and his role as father of two little children. Dan Sultan's only Danish festival in 2024.
